“As a Black woman, I believe access to the ballot is sacred. It is personal. It is hard won. And it is nothing to take for granted.
I’m furious to hear junior U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick take to the Senate floor and spread lies about Chester County voters to justify federalizing our elections through the so-called SAVE Act.
Let’s be clear: nothing that happened in Chester County last year would have been prevented by the SAVE Act. The county made an administrative mistake that left third-party and unaffiliated voters off the rolls. It was an error, and it was corrected. Every affected voter was offered a provisional ballot on Election Day, and 96% of those votes were counted.
To suggest otherwise is an outright lie that throws our election officials, workers, and volunteers fully under the bus.”
